Job Description

Job Summary:


The Cashier is responsible for handling customer transactions accurately, maintaining proper record-keeping of daily cash proceeds, managing job cards, processing customer orders, and performing daily cash counts for end-of-day reconciliation. The role requires knowledge of tax handling on invoices, correctly applying discounts, managing petty cash transactions, and maintaining proper documentation for credit invoices. Ensuring all supporting documents are accurately recorded and filed is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process sales transactions efficiently using cash registers or other point-of-sale systems.

  • Accept and handle payments via cash, checks, or card transactions, providing correct change to cash customers.

  • Balance the cash drawer at the beginning and end of shifts and reconcile sales receipts.

  • Generate reports for cash, credit, and debit sales.

  • Process refunds and exchanges accurately.

  • Maintain proper documentation for all transactions, including credit invoices and supporting documents.

  • Manage petty cash transactions as required.

 

Skills Description

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.

  • 0–2 years of experience in a similar role.

  • Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Knowledge of tax handling, discounts, and petty cash management.

  • Good organizational and record-keeping skills.
