Environment, Health, Safety & Security Specialist (EHSS)

Job summary:

The EHSS Specialist is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring comprehensive environment, health, safety, and security programs across all company facilities. This role ensures full compliance with local regulations, minimizes workplace risks, and fosters a proactive culture of safety and environment through regular audits, training, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure strict adherence to all local environmental, health, safety, and security regulations, and manage reporting to all relevant authorities (e.g., Ministry of Labor).
• Develop and implement annual EHSS plans, including inspection schedules, training programs, and emergency response drills.
• Conduct risk assessments, safety audits, and workplace inspections to identify hazards and ensure corrective actions are taken.
• Lead investigations of all incidents, injuries, and near-misses, and maintain a system for timely reporting and analysis.
• Manage firefighting systems, including alarms and firefighting equipment, and oversee regular emergency response training and drills.
• Conduct safety inductions for new hires and ongoing training for employees in EHSS procedures.
• Oversee employee health programs, including pre-employment and periodic medical checks, wellbeing initiatives, and mental health support.
• Manage waste disposal, hazardous materials, and environmental compliance in coordination with recycling and regulatory parties.
• Provide technical guidance to management on EHSS requirements for new projects, constructions, and expansions.
• Manage security operations, including access control systems, CCTV surveillance, and the performance of outsourced security company.
• Ensure the security and safety of all facilities and company assets.
• Prepare and submit regular EHSS performance reports.
• Assist in preparing the departmental budget and provide expert advice on all EHSS matters.
• Manage the daily operations of employee transportation, including scheduling, driver coordination, and resolving service issues to ensure punctuality and safety.

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Health and Safety, or a related field
• 5–7 years of experience in Human Resources
• Health and Safety Specialist Certification is a must.
