Job Summary

The Accountant plays a key role in supporting the finance function by ensuring accurate financial records, effective cash control, and proper management of vendor payments and costing activities. The role combines responsibilities in Accounts Payable, bank reconciliation, and treasury support, while also assisting in product costing and inventory valuation.

The position supports departmental leadership in maintaining strong financial controls, managing letters of credit and guarantees, reconciling accounts, and analyzing vehicle procurement costs, import charges, inventory movements, and margin performance to ensure accurate financial reporting and profitability analysis.

Responsibilities

Accounts Payable & Vendor Management

  • Process and verify supplier invoices in accordance with company policies and approval procedures.
  • Prepare and issue cheque payments to vendors and customers as required.
  • Manage vendor accounts and perform periodic reconciliations.
  • Generate accounts payable reports, aging analysis, and payment summaries.

Cash Control & Treasury Support

  • Reconcile the company’s bank statements with bookkeeping ledgers.
  • Manage post-dated cheques including collection, return, and reconciliation.
  • Handle letters of credit and letters of guarantee, ensuring accurate documentation and recording.

Costing & Financial Analysis

  • Support the costing function by analyzing vehicle procurement costs and import charges.
  • Assist in inventory valuation and monitoring inventory movements.
  • Support margin analysis and profitability reporting.

Compliance & Documentation

  • Ensure adherence to company financial policies, procedures, and approval workflows.
  • Maintain proper filing and archiving of all supporting financial documents.
  • Prepare documentation and respond to requests from internal and external auditors.
  • Support tax compliance and VAT-related documentation when required.

المهارات

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 1–3 years of experience in accounting, preferably in accounts payable or finance operations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills.
